Shinjuku Station is on all the JR lines: the Keio Line, the Odakyu Electric Railway, Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line, the Toei Shinjuku Line, and the Toei Oedo Line. Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building Observation Deck

This observatory in Tokyo is considered one of the best free ones available. The 47th floor of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building provides a stunning panoramic view of the city from 202 meters above the ground.

Each of the observation areas on the south and north sides has its own opening hours, holidays, and amenities. The views are similar, but the highlight is the triangular-roofed Shinjuku Park Tower, the 222-meter-tall Tokyo Opera City, and Mt. Fuji on the west side, and the spectacular view of Shinjuku's myriad skyscrapers on the north side.

The elevators leading to the observation deck can be crowded during twilight hours, particularly an hour before and after sunset. If you plan to visit during these magical hours, make sure to allocate ample time for your visit.

Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal Pedestrian Plaza

The Busta Shinjuku Pedestrian Plaza is situated between the south exit ticket gates of Shinjuku Station and the express bus terminal named 'Busta Shinjuku'. The observation deck is a popular destination for both date couples and bus-riding tourists due to its beautiful indirect lighting and great atmosphere

Despite the closing of the adjacent commercial facilities, you can still take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the night breeze. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building shines beautifully in front of you and you can observe the Shinjuku Station line below. This place has a large number of benches.

Shinjuku Takashimaya Times Square White Garden

On the 13th and 12th floors of Shinjuku Takashimaya's restaurant floor, a beautiful rooftop garden can be found. The expansive garden offers panoramic views of Shinjuku Gyoen, Tokyo Sky Tree, Shinjuku's skyscrapers, and the NTT Docomo Yoyogi Building.

Tokyu Kabukicho Tower

Just walk out of Shinjuku Station's new South Gate exit and go in front of the Shinnan ticket gate. It's also known as 'Suica Penguin Plaza' or 'Suica Penguin Square'.

The Suica Penguin, the face of Suica prepaid rechargeable contactless smart card used on Tokyo trains and buses, makes a greeting to visitors who come to the area. A great spot to take a break away from the crowds is this place with benches and foliage.
